ONESF: Celebrate the Cup
BSS helps to build a civic engagement and corporate partnership program in support of the community and legacy benefits of San Francisco’s America’s Cup
The San Francisco America’s Cup Organizing Committee (SFACOC) retained BSS to design a civic engagement program to support San Francisco’s role as host of the America’s Cup. Working closely with the SFACOC, the San Francisco Office of the Mayor, and philanthropic fundraisers, BSS was instrumental in developing the program and then recruiting key funding, strategic, and promotional partners to help offset costs to the City.
BSS shaped the ONESF: Celebrate the Cup program into a viable corporate partnership platform that expanded the scope and visibility of community and legacy projects related to San Francisco’s hosting of the America’s Cup. ONESF: Celebrate the Cup highlighted relevant projects such as San Francisco’s brand new eco-friendly cruise ship terminal, new permanent public parks, expanded youth sailing programs, public waterfront improvements, new SF Bay sustainability initiatives, economic development opportunities, and more. Each of these compelling community stories – told through a variety of marketing platforms – provided enhanced opportunities for corporate engagement.
BSS ultimately helped to bring in multiple corporate and strategic partners to support and promote the program, including Kilroy Realty, the Bay Area Council/Dignity Health, PricewaterhouseCoopers, URS, and the San Francisco Giants. We also developed media partnerships with the San Francisco Business Times and 7×7 Magazine to share the ONESF story with the Bay Area community.
With the support of these partners and many individual donors, San Francisco celebrated the 34th America’s Cup in style – and Oracle Team USA emerged triumphant once again.
